SHAPES OF PLAY
Collaboration with manufacturer Tomaello for @dutchdesignweekProject guided by @studio_ossidiana
A tree is one of the most primitive form of a playground.
It is also an element that is transformed into a straight, geometric column.
Historically, columns were first built out of wood and later on sculpted from stone.
A living element was turned into a static object.
The layers in the column shows the transformation from soil to stone, the lives it hides and the different ways of which something can appear natural or artificial.
An analogy occurs between man-made and organic materials.
